The construction work of the church was started on August 16, 1964 and completed in 1974, when June 29 was inaugurated and consecrated to St. Peter the Apostle. The building has a decidedly modern cut as it has the shape of a large sail and the plan is elliptical, so the perimeter walls are almost completely rounded. Moreover the soaring bell tower is integrally reinforced concrete.

The interior has a single wide classroom with beams and columns in exposed concrete. The presbytery, also of considerable size, is raised by a step and welcomes the altar, which has a remarkable wooden Crucifix behind it, on the right the Tabernacle and on the left a valuable baptismal font and a Madonna with Child carved on lime .

Then, in 2004, an interesting wooden relief called Miraculous peach was added to the right wall. On the wooden altar, resting on two stone foundations, is placed the Sacred Stone containing the relics of the holy martyrs Flaviano, Faustino, Simplicio, Felice and Beatrice and the remains of the cross of St. Peter the Apostle and the parchment commemorating the day of inauguration of the Church signed by Monsignor Abele Conigli, at the time Bishop of the Diocese of Teramo-Atri.
