La Ruetta

It is the narrowest alley of Civitella del Tronto and indeed, as a plaque reads at its entrance, it is the narrowest lane in Italy, even if this particular record is at least to be shared with a small street of Ripatransone.

In general Civitella del Tronto is characterized by the presence of several narrow streets and alleys and this because they were designed for defensive purposes as they allowed to channel possible assailants and capture them more easily.
