It is located in the main square of Nocella, a town just outside Campli, right in front of the Torre Melatina. The roof is gabled and a small bell tower with a bell is located on the horizontal crowning façade.
The entrance portal is surmounted by a lunette bearing a bas-relief depicting the Roman emperor Valerius with San Mariano and San Giacomo at the sides to which the church is named.
In addition, a large window opens at the center of the façade. The interior is not particularly sophisticated, but it is beautiful and certainly not without some items of interest. For example, the wooden ceiling in baroque style totally painted is of a certain value, the center of which dominates the figure of the Madonna del Carmine surrounded by Angels and at whose feet is the founder of the Carmelite Order who receives the scapular as a gift.
The presbytery area is surmounted by a dome with a cross vault also embellished with interesting frescoes. On the altar you can admire a Baroque Tabernacle and in the wall immediately behind a large canvas depicting a religious scene that sees the Madonna del Carmine as the main subject. On the side there is an altar containing the reliquary bust and the reliquary arm of San Mariano, the latter from 1778.
